OMY Armor is a personal spiritual practice tracker. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your information when you use the app.
The short version: your practice logs and profile are stored on your device, and — if you sign in or create an account — also synced to our secure cloud backend so your data can follow you across devices and power the leaderboard. We don't sell your data, run ad-tracking SDKs, or share it with advertisers.
What information the app uses
- Sign-in information. If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, the app reads your name, email address, and account identifier so it can recognize your account and keep it synced across your devices.
- Practice data. Anything you log in the app — niyams, streaks, sessions, notes, and progress — is created by you, kept on your device, and synced to your account so it's available if you sign in on another device or need to recover it. This includes optional details you choose to add, like a precise fasting duration, a custom niyam's checklist of types, or your Niyam Bank history (deposits and withdrawals of banked surplus).
- Optional username & password. Setting up a username and password is always optional. If you do, it lets you sign back in and recover your synced data — including on a new device. You are never required to create one, whichever way you signed in.
- Send my progress report. If you use this feature to email a report to someone else, that recipient's email address is also stored on your account.
- Leaderboard (opt-in). The leaderboard is off by default. If you turn it on, your display name, state/country, points, level, current streak, best streak, and the names and completion percentages of your practices become visible to other users. Your private notes and day-by-day entries are never shown. Turning the leaderboard back off removes your entry.
- Reports you file. If you report someone on the leaderboard, we store the profile you reported, the reason you selected, and your own profile identifier, so we can review the report and follow up on repeat offenders. Reports are readable only by us.
- People you block. Your block list is stored only on your own device. We never upload it, and the person you blocked is never told.
Where your information is stored
Your practice data and profile are cached on your device for fast, offline-friendly access, and — if you're signed in — synced to our cloud backend (Firebase, operated by Google) so your account can be recovered and kept up to date across devices. We don't sell this data or share it with advertisers, and it's only accessible to you (and, for the specific fields listed above, to other users if you opt in to the leaderboard). You can permanently delete your account and its synced data at any time from the app's Profile screen; this can't be undone. Uninstalling the app removes locally cached data from your device, but does not delete your synced account — use the in-app delete option for that.
Community guidelines and moderation
The leaderboard is a shared, public space, so it comes with rules. There is zero tolerance for offensive or sexually explicit display names, hate speech and slurs, harassment or threats, impersonation, and spam.
To enforce that, we do three things:
- We screen content before it's published. Display names and practice names are checked automatically before they ever appear on anyone else's screen. Anything that fails the check simply isn't published — you keep what you typed on your own device.
- You can report anyone. Tap the ⋯ next to any name on the leaderboard to report it. We review every report within 24 hours and remove content and accounts that break these rules. Serious or repeated violations mean losing access to the account.
- You can block anyone. Blocking is instant and needs no approval from us. A blocked person disappears from your leaderboard immediately, and you can unblock them at any time from your Profile screen.
Sensitive information
OMY Armor is a spiritual practice tracker, and fields like your niyam names and any free-text notes may reflect your religious or philosophical beliefs. This information is treated with the same protections as the rest of your account data and is never sold or shared.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your information.
- We don't share your information with advertisers.
- We don't run advertising or tracking SDKs, and we don't build an advertising profile of you.
- We don't use your data to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Third-party sign-in and cloud storage
When you sign in with Google or Apple, that authentication happens directly with Google or Apple's own systems, governed by their own privacy policies:
We use Firebase, a cloud platform operated by Google, to store your synced account and practice data securely. Firebase acts only as our data processor — it doesn't use your OMY Armor data for its own purposes. Children's privacy
OMY Armor is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
